Appoint more Ijaws into your cabinet, Akiefa appeals to Gov Okowa

Chief Comrade Akiefa Frank, IYC Chairman Western Zone has called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to give more appointments to ljaw people in Delta state during his second tenure because of their loyalty to him and Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) in every elections in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Warri, recently, Comrade Frank observed that since 1999 till date, the Ijaws in the State has never supported any other political party during elections.
According to the chairman of IYC, western Zone, the are always standing by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and they have voted massively for him in all his governorship elections including the 2015 governorship primaries.
“We are calling on Governor Okowa to reciprocate our loyalty and faithfulness to him by given ljaws more appointments in his second tenure, we expect His Excellency to at least appoint two or three Commissioners in Burutu Local Government as the biggest Local Government Area in the state.
“His Excellency should also give ljaw people more appointments as Board Chairman/Chairperson, SA and SSA in his tenure for always standing by him and voting massively for him in all his governorship elections”.
Chief Frank, appealed to Governor Okowa to consider the appointment of ljaw person in the Warri three Local Government as Commissioners, stressing that there is nothing to write home about people in Warri North, Warri South and Warri South-West Local Government.
He lamented that they (Ijaw people) have been treated like third class citizens since the inception of those three Local Government Areas. So we are begging our dear Governor to consider and appoint ljaw person as Commissioner this time for fairness, justice and peace.Speaking with newsmen in Warri,
The Ijaw Chief further appealed to governor Okowa to focus on Egodor road which is perceived as a death trap and also complete the Ayakoromo bridge and the road that leads Esanma to Ezebiri.
Speaking further, he said that the government should look at the dilapidating state of Gbekebor and Tuomo communities.
“I know Mr Governor will hear the cry and plea of the ljaw people and keep to his promised to do something, he always keep to his words as a listening governor, “he said.
