Okoh identifies indiscipline as cause of rape

By Ambrose Ologide
A renowned opinion leader, Chief Eunice Okoh has asserted that indiscipline of the male child is one of the major causes of rape in the society.
Okoh made the assertion in a media chat with our correspondent on the trend at Otu Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area at the weekend.
She noted that most rapists were morally bankrupt right from the cradle, saying, “Their parents see nothing wrong when they play with the erection of their manhood, they (parents) would rather hail them (rapists) for having a strong erection at that tender age.
“Such male children would grow up showcasing their manhood with females, sometimes with their relations forcefully.”
She advised that parents should be mindful of the character of their children and the company they keep
While advocating the enactment of laws from community to all levels of governments, she also called for stiffer punishments .
