March 18 Polls: Omo- Agege Sues for Peace, Urges Anti-Cult group to be Security Conscious

The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate and the Delta State candidate of All people progressive Congress (APC) has urged members of Delta Anti-Cult group to be vigilant before, during and after the Governorship Election.
Speaking during his first meeting with members of the Anti-Cult group, on Monday, at Asaba, he said the issue of security is everybody’s business, especially politicians. frankly speaking the Police can not do it alone”, adding that all over the world crime fighting is a collective one hence the need for inter agency cooperation and collaboration”
He noted that no country in the world has zero crime rate even the developed ones, explaining that it can only be brought down with the collaboration of stakeholders such as Anti Cult Volunteer Corps, vigilante as well as other sister security agencies playing their roles effectively.
While commending the Anti Cult Volunteer Corps for its commitment to stamp out cultism and other social vices from communities, the Senate President advised Patrons of the group not to condone any bad egg among it’s fold.
He added that whomever wants to use the corps as a cover to engage in criminality especially during the elections should be removed.
He said, “I will work with you, we will work together to change the face of Delta. I enjoin every men of the Anti-Cult to be professional in the discharge of your duties and desist from acts against the tenets of formation of AVC. As crime fighters, you must smoke out moles from within who sell out intelligence to their criminal cohorts. We should not allow saboteurs to be in our midst”.
The APC candidate also urged the anti cult Volunteer Corps to carry out their duties within the ambit of the law and should be exemplary in the conduct especially during the elections.
There is need for security so that all those companies that have left the state will return. Government does not create jobs but we will create the enabling environment for peace and security so investors can come in and create jobs for our people.
Omo-Agege said the challenges facing the state affected everybody irrespective of ethnic or political affiliation, saying he will be fair, just and equitable in the management of the state resources, if elected
The Delta Central lawmaker stated that under him as governor, no section or part of the state would be neglected or marginalized on account of ethnicity, senatorial district or religious affiliation.
Responding, the President in Charge of the Anti Cult Unit Delta State, commended the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for his outright contribution to peace and development of the state and country at large.
He promised to carry out his duty within the ambit of the law and work with all zeal along side his men during the Governorship elections.
