INEC declares Oborevwori winner of 2023 guber election in Delta

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the march 18, 2023 elections.

Making the declaration Monday afternoon in the press hall of the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) office in Asaba, the Governorship Election Returning Officer and Vice chancellor of University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari George Will said Rt. Hon. Oborevwori polled a total of 360,234 votes to emerge winner of the election.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the march 18, 2023 elections.

Making the declaration Monday afternoon in the press hall of the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) office in Asaba, the Governorship Election Returning Officer and Vice chancellor of University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari Georgewill who made the declaration said Rt. Hon. Oborevwori polled a total of 360,234 votes to emerge winner of the election.

His closest rival, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled a total of 240,229 to take the second place and Labour Party’s (LP) Ken Pela polled a total of 48,047 for the third position.

By this result, PDP’s candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori established his popularity and exposed APC’s Ovie Omo-Agege as unacceptable to the majority of voters in the state.

While Oborevwori won overwhelmingly in 21 local governments of the 25 local government areas of the state, the for local governments won by Omo-Agege are in his core areas of Udu LGA, Uvwie LGA,Ughelli South and Ughelli North.
