Delta Police rescues two-years-old child abducted while playing with friends

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in child trafficking in the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, revealed that the suspects, Mallam Sa’ad Ahmed Baba, 57 years old of no. 12 Lagos Street, Cable Point Asaba and Halima Abubakar, 25 yeas old of Jarret, also Cable Point Asaba were arrested.
The image maker said the operatives of SIB embarked on an intelligence-led investigation and raided the hideout of the suspects, leading to the rescue of the child at their Issele-Asagba, where they hid the child while assuring that investigation is ongoing.
The PPRO, said: “On 3/8/2023, the Command received information from a resident of Jarret in Asaba, that on 2/8/2023, her child Ridwan Ibrahim, two years old, went missing while playing with other children in the compound of her sister whom she went to visit.
“Based on this information, the Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Wale Abass, detailed operatives of SIB to embark on an intelligence-led investigation.
“The team swung into action, analyzing the phone conversation of some suspected person.
“Consequently, on 3/8/2023, two suspects namely Mallam Sa’ad Ahmed Baba, 57 years old of no. 12 Lagos Street, Cable Point Asaba and Halima Abubakar, 25 yeas old of Jarret Cable Point Asaba were arrested, and the child was rescued at Issele-Asagba where they hid the child. Investigation is ongoing.”
