Delta Commissioner of Youth Constitutes Committee to Harmonize Previous Policies, Programs with MORE Agenda

Delta State Ministry of Youth Development has constituted a committee to harmonize the programs and policies of the immediate past administration to the current MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Speaking during the inauguration of the committee at Asaba, the State Commissioner of Youth Development, Mr Agbateyimiro Weyinmi said the action is aimed formulating effective plans and implementation of ideas that will improve the lives of Youths in Delta.
The commissioner of Youth Development explained that members of the committee were drawn from different segments of the society to ensure adequate representation as well as meaningful contribution to the Ministry’s quest.
Charging the 17-man committee to work diligently, Weyinmi gave them a two weeks timeline to deliver results for which the committee was established.
Meanwhile, the Ministry had set up another committee to capture all youths organizations in the State so as to give them an opportunity benefit from the empowerment programs of the Oborevwori led administration.
Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Emuakpeje E. thanked the commissioner for giving him the opportunity to serve while assuring of delivery on the terms of reference of the committee within the stipulated time.
The committee’s mandate includes;
(1) Review current Ministry of Youth Development Programmers with the Ministry’s successes, challenges and areas of possible improvements.
(2) Review the existing National Youth Policies and its domestication and align it with the actualization of the M.O.R.E Agenda;
(a). Revised National Youth Policy (2019-2024) and its Strategic thrust.
(b). Nigeria Youth Employment Action Plan (2021-2024 and its strategic line of actions.
(3) Identify appropriate innovative strategies and recommendations that will enable Delta Youths fulfil their aspiration and potential, and make positive contribution to the society;
(4) identify and address critical human resource capacity needs and gaps in the Ministry for effective policy implementation;
(5) Any other idea that may be relevant to this assignment;
(6) Recommend for consideration how best the Ministry can have a valid data base of all Delta State Youths.
