Fight Against Irregular Migration, Drug Abuse, Collective Responsibility of All _ Erebe

Delta State Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, has said that the fight against irregular migration and drug abuse is a collective responsibility of every individual in any society.

Erebe stated this in Asaba when the Chief Executive Officer of the State Orientation Bureau and Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Communication, Olorogun Barr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivwe paid him a courtesy call.

The State Solicitor-General said that the Ministry was happy to partner with the Orientation Bureau in carrying out crucial enlightenment campaign , adding that the Ministry would direct any agency that is carrying out certain sensitization to the Bureau for more comprehensive sensitization.

Erebe stated that Delta State was rated high in cases of irregular migration, stressing that it was wrong for youths of nowadays to believe that once you travel abroad you were already made in terms of money .

He recalled how a girl was traffic abroad by two women but was later brought back to Nigeria through the efforts of some lawyers in the Ministry and an international organization, emphasizing that two women were now at the Okerre Correctional Centre .

Erebe noted that often time, the victims of irregular migration were made to pass through hard labour by their traffickers.

He told the Orientation Bureau Boss that some Directors and the Head of his Chambers , Mr. Jonah Otiti would be sent to interface with the Orientation Bureau.

Earlier, the Executive Officer of Orientation Bureau and Executive Assistant to Governor on Communication, Olorogun Barr Latimore Oghenesivwe JP, told the Solicitor-General that recently the Bureau embarked on a sensitization visit to schools in the State.

He said that they were in the Justice Ministry to seek for collaboration so that the the battle against drug abuse could be collectively won.
