Namibia Swears in First Female President

Southern Africa’s desert nation of Namibia has sworn in her first woman president , Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah,
Nandi-Ndaitwah, 72, took her oath of office today.
Previously the vice president, she is a stalwart of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO)that led the sparsely populated and uranium-rich country to independence from apartheid South African 1990.
