Gov Oborevwori Decamps to APC

Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori, has switched his party affiliation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
This announcement was made during a press conference following a gathering of PDP leaders and stakeholders in Asaba.
During the briefing, the State Commissioner for Works (Rural) and Public Communications stated that the decision to defect was reached unanimously by the party’s leaders and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of this move for the overall development of the state.
He mentioned that a ”significant announcement” concerning the PDP’s transition to the APC will be made by Monday.
In addition, Senator James Manager, who is serving his fifth term in the Senate, clarified that consultations had been ongoing, which led to the defection.
He emphasized that the change was due to “the state of politics in the PDP” , pointing out that the decision was reached collectively, rather than being an individual choice.
