Delta 2023: Gbagi Approach Tribunal to Nullify   Oborevwori’s Victory

The 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta state, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has filed a 79 page litigation to the Election Petition Tribunal to reclaim his alleged stolen mandate during the governorship election in the state.

Olorogun Gbagi made this known after submitting his petition before the Election Tribunal in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Thursday.

In the controversial election, the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, rt. Hon. Francis Oborevwori emerged winner of the Delta gubernatorial election with a total of 360,234  votes, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege  of the All Progressive Congress ( APC)polled 240,229 votes,  Labour Party’s Ken Pella scored 48,047 while Olorogun gbagi  had 4, 639 votes.

Gbaji, the former Minister of State Education, who submitted the petition in company of his counsels, including Magaji Mato Ibrahim SAN, said his 79 page suit against the victory of PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori, is a sign that he was not in the contest for the fun of it.

He alleged that the election results were manipulated and allocated because those numbers are not realistic with INEC, saying that declaring results which have nothing to do with the BVAS is wrong as those results are deemed to be canceled.

He said, “the election was not conducted in line with the Electoral Act. The man (Oborevwori) INEC declared as the winner is first and foremost not qualified. I have to get it right. We have been deceived and denied our rights to electoral victory in Delta for too long.

“We know the numbers of accredited voters, if what INEC declared what is not at variant, you should know to expect. In the next few weeks, you will understand that we didn’t come here for a joke.”

“I believe my petition has encompassed all of that and I believe strongly that the judiciary will do justice,” he added.
