Delta CP Tasks Stakeholders on Security

Delta State Commissioner of Police CP,  Wale Abass has called on all stakeholders in the state to take security matters seriously, noting that security is the business of all.

CP Abass made the statement at the Command’s headquarters in Asaba, while playing host to the new Executives of Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC) of the NUJ.

Pointing out that he runs an open door policy, the State’s 21st CP said “my office is always open to the press, I have respect for the press as one of the major stakeholders in security matters.”

Noting the prevalent shortage of manpower as well as evolution in crimes, CP Abass stressed that “The people out number the police workforce and so the police can’t do it alone. We need people to come actively in and be free to bring things to my notice”.
He added that “Crime has actually taken over the whole society, if you look at it, its difficult for a righteous person to survive in an unrighteous environment”

Earlier, the Chairman of the Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel, Comr. Kenneth Orusi, thanked the CP for his giant strides in crime-fighting, achieved in less than a month of his fourth return to the state.

Comrade Orusi however implored the CP to  “look very discreetly into the issue of cultism in the state at all levels.”
