Omoun Assumes Duty as Commissioner of Agriculture, Tasks Staff on Innovation

The newly inaugurated Commissioner of Delta State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Perez Omoun Esq. has charged the staff of the Ministry to focus on agricultural innovation in order to actualize the M.O.R.E agenda of the administration.
The Commissioner gave the charge on his first visit to the Ministry, at Asaba.
Explaining that innovation was the only way to improve agriculture in the State, the Commissioner asked the staff to start thinking outside the box so as to achieve the purpose for which the ministry was created.
Promising to work with them , he said they should not forget that they have a hungry nation to feed, hence the need for them to come up with ideas that can ensure food availability in the state.
While appreciating God for the opportunity to serve as a commissioner in the ministry, he said their ideas would help in the actualization of the M.O.R.E agenda.
He stated that the Ministry ought to look 70 percent inwardly in ensuring that there was sufficient food to feed all Deltan.
The Commissioner maintained that food security was possible with all the natural resources the state was blessed with, adding that by collaborating with foreign agencies the state can get better beyond oil.
He however urged them to be diligent and committed to work as their sincerity in the discharge of their duty could make or mar an effective service delivery.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Benard Agamah assured the Commissioner of support from staff of the ministry.
Agamah said they would key into the M.O.R.E agenda of the state governor so as to ensure food availability than ever before.
