Delta Govt Pledges Unwavering Support for Online Publishers

Delta State Government has commended the leadership and members of Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF), for their professionalism and patriotism in handling information concerning the State.
Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Comrade Felix Ofou, expressed the appreciation when he played host to a delegation of DOPF led by the Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli.
Comrade Ofou observed that members of the Forum had consistently been publishing the activities of government over the years at their own cost, even in the current hard times, assuring that their partnership would not be taken for granted.
Stating that the importance of online news platforms could not be over-emphasized, he described them as critical stakeholders in the New media space, pointing out that the DOPF members had used their vast experience and integrity to manage information on government activities without resorting to Yellow Journalism.
Pledging Delta Government’s support for the activities of DOPF, the Executive Assistant acknowledged the support and cooperation Government it had been enjoying from online publishers in the State.
Earlier, Mr Enebeli appreciated the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori led administration for the infrastructural development it had so far initiated, especially in the Warri, Effurun axis of the state and urged the Governor to act on the Agbor-Umutu-Obiaruku-Abraka road to make it motorable and boost economic activities in the state.
The DOPF Chairman appealed for a better deal for members of the group in view of their sacrifices in ensuring that government reports are published on a daily basis.
