The Delta State Government has waded into the lingering land dispute between indigenes of Idumu-Agu in Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North LGA and indigenes of Amachai in Okpanam, Oshimili North LGA to restore peace and sanity to both communities.

To ensure a peaceful resolution, members of the Boundary Commission at the instance of the State Government, began to carry out a demarcation exercise for the both communities on Tuesday 11th March, 2025.

The Boundary Commission members were on ground to enforce the adjustment/demarcation assignment with indigenes of both communities accompanying them to observe what was being done.

The procedure which lasted for hours saw those involved taking different measurements while watching out for relevant signs needed to ensure a seamless process which would be acceptable by both communities in the end.

Some of the indigenes of both communities who spoke on conditions of anonymity, said the land dispute had been on for decades, and they expressed optimism that Government’s intervention would bring the needed peace and lasting solution to the both communities within Aniocha North and Oshimili North Local Government Areas of the State.
