The Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian and Community Support Services, Orode Uduaghan has expressed interest to partner the Fostering Hopes Foundation in order to achieve a greater goal of reaching the unreached towards rendering humanitarian services to them across Delta hinterlands.

She made this commitment when the team of Fostering Hopes Foundation led by Nkechi Ukome, paid her a courtesy visit to intimate her on what the NGO has been doing to support families at risk of separation in the hope that children from these families would receive better opportunities in life.

According to the Commissioner, “I love what you are doing, I love the structure you have put in place, and just as you were speaking, I was catching up with ideas on how best to go about the support we are giving to vulnerable people. Many of the NGOs around do come to partner with us but have not really impressed us the way you have.

“This is quite interesting because we have never had families at risk of separation to deal with. Besides, I am skeptical about NGOs around but you have proven quite credible to deal with.

“We will like you to profile these families at the brink of separation, so we can work together in giving them humanitarian support based on data. We are open to working with you, because this is key to the M.O.R.E Agenda of this Government, which is strategic in providing opportunities for all.

“And for the Walkathon Project on the 5th of April, I might not be available, but be rest assured I’m going to send our team to join you. Thank you very much as we take it up from here”, Uduaghan affirmed.

Earlier while addressing the Commissioner and management staff of the Ministry, the Founder/Coordinator of Fostering Hopes Foundation, Nkechi Ukome had listed the life touching empowerment programmes she had carried out in record time.

She assured the Commissioner of the capacity of the NGO in bringing value to the great work she is already doing to impact the lives of vulnerable people in Delta State.

Ukome also explained the concept behind the Walkathon Project, saying it’s all about creating awareness on the Foundation and raising support for families at risk of separation and child protection and development.
